The Central Management Committee (CMC), an inter-ministerial secretarial committee for National Social Security Programme under the chair of the Cabinet Secretary, Mr. Mohammad Shafiul Alam, convened its 13th meeting and discussed on Social Security Act 2019 on Thursday 09 May 2019 at the Cabinet Division. Mr. Md. Abul Kalam Azad, the Principal Coordinator for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was present as special guest in the meeting. Dr. Md. Shamsul Arefin, Senior Secretary (Coordination and Reforms), Cabinet Division gave a presentation on salient feature of the Social Security Act 2019. Dr. Shamsul Alam, Member (Senior Secretary), General Economics Division (GED) and other Secretaries took part in the review discussions in the meeting. The Secretaries of CMC agreed on the preliminary draft of the Social Security Act 2019 and decided to provide further inputs within next 7-working-day time and Law Wing of the Cabinet Division will further work on this act.
