The Focus Group Discussion (FGD) Report on Family Card Beneficiaries in Khalishpur, Khulna presents findings from discussions with 12 beneficiaries to assess the early implementation and household-level impacts of the Family Card Programme. Conducted under the Social Security Policy Support (SSPS) Programme, the study finds that the programme provides critical financial assistance to vulnerable households, enabling beneficiaries to meet essential needs such as healthcare, education, and daily household expenses. The findings also indicate emerging opportunities for beneficiaries to save and invest in small income-generating activities, contributing to greater economic resilience and self-reliance. Participants expressed strong satisfaction with the programme and reported no major household conflicts related to the use of the allowance. The study, however, highlights the need for clearer communication regarding programme eligibility and the implications of overlapping social protection benefits. A featured case study demonstrates how the programme can support women’s economic empowerment by facilitating productive investments, income generation, and opportunities for continued education. Overall, the report underscores the positive contribution of the Family Card Programme to improving household well-being while identifying areas for strengthening programme awareness and implementation.
