The 10th Meeting of NSSS Monitoring and Evaluation Committee was held on 20 July 2022 at the Nazia Salma Conference Room, General Economics Division (GED), Planning Commission, chaired by Dr. Md. Kawser Ahmed, Member (Secretary), GED. The agenda of the meeting included a ‘Diagnostic review of the National Social Insurance Scheme as a feasible model for Bangladesh’ and ‘Assessment, Scope and Framework for introducing the National Social Security Strategy (NSSS) M&E Dashboard.’
The meeting was facilitated by Mr. Aminul Arifeen, National Project Director, Social Security Policy Support (SSPS) Programme. The participants included senior level officials of social security implementing ministries including Cabinet Division and ICT Division. Participants from different ministries discussed the ways forward for introducing the National Social Insurance Scheme and creating an M&E dashboard.
The Social Security Policy Support (SSPS) Programme of the Cabinet Division & General Economics Division (GED) with technical assistance from DFAT & UNDP provided support for organizing this meeting. The recommendations of the workshop will be placed before the Central Management Committee (CMC) on Social Security, which is headed by the Cabinet Secretary.
