A piloting to test the effectiveness of different forms of Grievance Redress mechanism, focusing on its readiness of redressing complaints related to social protection, will be conducted from September to December of this year in Kurigram district. In this regard, three orientation workshops for government officials, Upazila Chairmen, Pouroshova mayors, Union Chairmen, Union Digital Centre (UDC) entrepreneurs were held in Sopnokuri Auditorium in the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kurigram on 15-17 September 2019. Mr. A K Mohiuddin Ahmad, Additional Secretary (Coordination), Cabinet Division was present as the Chief Guest in all three orientation workshops. Mst. Sultana Pervin, Deputy Commissioner of Kurigram chaired all three workshops. Mr. Md. Rezaul Islam, Deputy Secretary (Development Goal Implementation and Coordination), Cabinet Division, Md. Mokhlesur Rahman, Deputy Secretary (Grievance Redress), Cabinet Division and Mohammed Shahidul Islam, Deputy Secretary (Civil Registration), Cabinet Division participated in the workshop. Officials from different government organizations and SSPS programme were also present at the orientation programmes.
Participants of the first day of the orientation program, held on 15 September, included government officials, Upazila Chairmen and Pouroshova Mayors in Kurigram district. The second of the orientation workshop, held on 16 September, were attended by the Union Parishad Chairmen. Union Digital Centre (UDC) entrepreneurs and representatives from different NGOs particpated on the third day of the workshop.
