A workshop titled “Social Insurance Prospects in Bangladesh” was held on 23 October 2018 at the Conference Room of Ministry of Labour and Employment, Bangladesh Secretariat as a preliminary step to start the social insurance scheme for formal sector workers’ unemployment insurance scheme. Ms. Afroza Khan, Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment was present as the chief guest at the workshop. Mr. Aminul Arifeen, National Project Manager of Social Security Policy Support (SSPS) Programme gave a presentation on a concept paper on insurance development and regulatory authority relating to social insurance scheme.

The workshop was organized by Ministry of Labour and Employment and technical assistance was given by the Social Security Policy Support (SSPS) Programme.
