Introduction:
The Government of Bangladesh is implementing the IDA assisted “Emergency 2007 Cyclone Recovery and Restoration Project (ECRRP)” through Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) under the Ministry of Local Government Rural Development and Cooperatives (MOLGRD&C) with a view to increased protection for the vulnerable population and livestock in 9 (Nine) districts of the cyclone prone areas during disasters in Bangladesh. The physical works of the “Emergency 2007 Cyclone Recovery and Restoration Project (ECRRP)” are included in construction of 360 numbers of cyclone shelters, improvement of 457 numbers of existing shelters, Construction of additional toilet 57 numbers, construction/re-construction of 360km of roads with 1200m bridge/culverts to connect cyclone shelters and construction of 30 killas. Total project covers 9 (Nine) districts namely Barguna, Bagerhat, Pirojpur, Patuakhali, Bhola, Barisal, Jhalokati, Khulna and Satkhira. Create facilities to community purpose such as various social and Govt. program like EPI, NGO training etc.
