Consultative Workshop on Implementation of NSSS held
A consultative workshop on Implementation of National Social Security Strategy (NSSS) took place on 30 September - 2 October 2022 at the Grand Sultan Tea Resort and Golf, Sreemangal, Moulvibazar. Respected Cabinet Secretary, Khandker Anwarul Islam graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Senior government officials including Mr. NM Zeaul Alam PAA, Senior Secretary, ICT Division; Mr. MD. Kawser Ahmed, Member (Secretary), GED, Planning Commission; Dr. Shahnaz Arefin, NDC, Secretary, Statistics and Informatics Division, and secretaries of 4 other ministries were present in the workshop. The workshop was also participated by representatives of social security implementing ministries, development partners, academia and officials of the district administration.
The focus of the workshop was discussion on strengthening the single registry MIS of social security and deliberation on formulating the next generation NSSS beyond 2026. The sessions included presentation on CODI assessment of social security system. Mr. Mohammad Khaled Hasan, Joint Secretary, Cabinet Division moderated the sessions of the workshop while also making a presentation on the overview of the NSSS.
The workshop was hosted by the Social Security Policy Support (SSPS) Programme of Cabinet Division and General Economics Division (GED), funded by DFAT & UNDP.
